The road to one-standard of high definition DVD. “Now that Sony’s Blu-ray Disc has won the battle vs. Toshiba’s HDDVD to be the standard for high-definition DVD players, some DVD chipmakers stand to benefit — at least for a short time.
The downloading of high-def movies and TV shows could in the not-too-distant future make DVD players obsolete. DVD player sales, in fact, already have started to decline as downloading gets easier and often cheaper.”
